AWS announced on May 20, 2026 that Security Hub Extended is live and designed to make enterprise security products easier to discover, test, and deploy. The core idea is simple: turn security buying into a product-led workflow so teams can validate defenses quickly instead of waiting through long procurement cycles.
AWS says Security Hub Extended lets customers discover curated partner solutions inside Security Hub, evaluate them with one click, and deploy them with pay-as-you-go pricing. The platform also normalizes findings into OCSF so AWS-native and third-party signals can be correlated in one place.
The post frames modern security as a speed problem as much as a tooling problem: if a team cannot deploy defenses quickly, it loses time while threats continue moving. That delay increases the chance that sensitive data, credentials, or backups are exposed before controls are in place.
Cold storage does not replace detection, but it lowers the blast radius when prevention fails. Keeping critical backups, signing keys, and recovery material offline means a compromise in one console or workload does not automatically become permanent data loss.
