AWS announced that Security Hub now adds purpose-built AI workload protection and multicloud support for Microsoft Azure. The release is aimed at giving security teams broader visibility and better prioritization as infrastructure spreads across providers and sensitive workloads move deeper into AI stacks. That is useful progress, but it also highlights a harder truth: the more environments, identities, and telemetry sources a business depends on, the more important it becomes to keep recovery materials outside the blast radius of day-to-day cloud operations.
AWS expanded Security Hub in two important directions by adding protections for AI workloads and bringing in multicloud support for Azure. The announcement focuses on centralizing signals and helping teams turn scattered findings into actionable security insights.
As environments become multicloud, losing logs, secrets, configuration history, or clean recovery points becomes more dangerous because incidents can spread across platforms at once. A compromise that affects identity systems, orchestration layers, or centralized tooling can leave teams blind precisely when they need trustworthy evidence and restoration data.
Cold storage creates a separation layer that multicloud security tooling cannot replace on its own. Offline backups of key material, audit exports, infrastructure state, and business-critical data give responders something attackers cannot easily tamper with, improving recovery when live control planes are under pressure.
